Tuition and Studio Policies
*In exceptional circumstances, students who need to take a leave of absence from lessons for a short period of time may hold their lesson spot by paying half tuition for the lessons missed.
Damage to my stuff or property:
If a member of your family damages my property or equipment, out of respect for what I am trying to do, please offer to make it right. We are friends here!
Liability:
There is very little risk involved with music lessons; however I know that people have accidents and bad things can happen. Please understand that I work hard to plan all of my lessons and events so that everyone is as safe as possible. In the event something bad happens, I will be there to provide support to the best of my ability.

Music Institute of Seattle Tuition and Policies Pledge: I have read the Music Institute of Seattle polices and agree to abide by the guidelines and policies listed. I pledge to have my child attend all scheduled lessons and will notify my teacher in advance in the event my child is not able to attend a lesson. I will pay a monthly tuition to my teacher as stated in the policies and a late fee may apply if my payment is late.
- I promise to treat my students and families with care and respect.
- I will always give you my best, when it comes to music instruction.
- I will always return your email or text in a timely and professional manner.
- I will always treat your children as my own and treat you like a family.
- I will always listen when you have a concern, and try my best to solve the problem.
- I will always own up to my mistakes, on the rare occasion that I am human…
Here are a few ways you can help in return…
Tuition and Studio Policies
- Tuition is due at the beginning of the month or first lesson of the month, and may be paid by check payable to "MUSIC INSTITUTE OF SEATTLE" or online though services that does not have fees, Venmo, Paypal, Applepay, Zella Pay.
- I honored your school's district vacation calendar and I followed public School's district calendar, which includes winter, mid-winter and spring and summer breaks.
- In order for your student to receive the full benefit of our educational program, they must attend consistently. Your student's weekly spot is reserve just for them each week of the month. Each student has the same set-up, and other students attend before and after your student.
- Both student and teacher may have one unexcused absent per semester. Fall semester is from September to January, the Spring semester is from February to June.
- Excused absents are, but not limited to, illness, official music activities such as youth symphony, music competitions, music festivals, or in the event of a “snow day” when area schools are cancelled, you are eligible to request for a refund or not pay for that lesson. I do offer FaceTime lesson in the case of a snow day.
- Unexcused absents are, but not limited to, forgotten lessons, last minute cancellation not due to illness, lateness, bad traffic, visiting relatives, birthday parties, sports activities, does not qualify as a valid reason to request for a refund and you should pay for that lesson.
- Repetitive late cancellations, and/or No Shows may result in termination of services and forfeiture of secured weekly appointment time.
- Lessons are 25 minutes in 30 minute slot, 40 minutes in 45 minutes slot and 55 minutes in 60 minutes slot, 5 minutes break is for smooth transition between students.
- Students that are playing competitively will need minimum of 3 rehearsals with the designated pianist on top of your regular lessons.
- One annual recital will be offer to all the students that are qualify to participate, willing participants will split accompanist fee.
